Rihanna Makes Moves in the Fashion Industry
For the first time in more than 30 years, LVMH, better known as Hennessy Louis Vuitton, is launching a brand “from inception.” And that’s not all; the brand their launching is none other than pop superstar Rihanna’s. That’s right. Alongside Louis Vuitton, Rihanna is creating a luxury fashion brand. This is the first brand they’ve launched from inception since Christian LaCroix in 1987.
The brand is said to include, “men's and women's ready-to-wear, leather goods, accessories and childrenswear...tech products, office supplies, home decor and garden ware.” If you play your cards right, you could find yourself trimming the roses in a pair of Rihanna-style Louis V gardening gloves. I’m sure there’s a pun in there about umbrellas, but I don’t think there’s a joke funny enough to justify it.
The press is calling the collection Project Loud France, not a finished name, in reference to the star’s upcoming album Loud. Rihanna has poured a large amount of her personal money into the project, nearly 35 million US, making her a majority shareholder in the corporation. Though Rihanna has collaborated with everyone from Armani to Dior, this will be her first, personal brand. Looks like the pop star plans on taking the fashion world by storm.
