KAWS Announces Hong Kong Exhibition Titled ‘ALONG THE WAY’
Right in time for Hong Kong Art Basel, KAWS has announced a new upcoming exhibition. ALONG THE WAY is the latest showcase in what has already been a busy year for the Brooklyn artist. From March 26-April 14, 2019, visitors will be able to enjoy a new KAWS experience.
Curated by Italian art historian, Germano Celant, the collection will feature 37 of KAWS’s most iconic pieces to be shown at the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation. The collection will encompass a decade of work, including various rare, never seen before paintings and sculptures. Welcoming visitors will be an 18-foot ALONG THE WAY figurine. Other pieces in the exhibit include a pink ACCOMPLICE (2010) sculpture, as well as two pieces from the YOU series (2017).
In a statement, KAWS says, “It is very exciting to see so many of my works gathered in one place and representing different phases and facets of my career. I have always wanted my art to connect with people – to have this opportunity to exhibit my works in the heart of Hong Kong’s bustling centre is great.”
Visitors will be happy to know that the exhibition is free to the public, and tickets can be acquired on the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Foundation website from March 18 at 11 AM.
