Sterling Ruby moves forward with his sculptural practice for a new “Sculpture” exhibition at the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, Texas. The American artist will unveil large- and medium-scale sculptures which he created throughout his prolific career. A majority of these pieces were made by Ruby, pouring polyurethane onto giant ceramic collages alongside textile works made of found fabrics which the artist dyes himself. Highlights in the forthcoming presentation include his enormous This Generation piece made in 2007, the Laying Figure crafted in 2013 using fabric and fiberfill, and THE POT IS HOT which he also created in 2013 that was made of urethane, wood, metal drum, and spray paint. Nearly 30 works will go on display at the exhibit.

View select works in the slideshow above and then head over to Nasher Sculpture Center’s website to learn more. The show will take place from February 2 until April 2. Elsewhere in art, the Half Gallery in New York City will host an exhibition spotlighting renowned poet, artist, and controversial critic: the late Rene Ricard.
